Stephania “Stella” Serfas

March 1, 1932 ~ April 11, 2022

 

It is with great sadness that the family of Stella Serfas announce her passing on Monday, April 11, 2022 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan at the age of 90 years.

 

Stella was born on March 1, 1932 to Alex and Nellie Korolischuk in her home in Janow Corners, Saskatchewan with the help of Grandma Anna Subchyshyn as the midwife.  She was raised with her five brothers:  Bill, John Eddie, Adam, and Jerry.  The family moved to Meath Park where she attended school.  She had many happy memories of living there.

 

Stella married the love of her life, Rudolf “Rudy” Serfas on January 15, 1952 in Sudbury, Ontario.

 

Stella worked with mentally disabled persons as a special care aid at North Park Centre for 18 years retiring in 1993.  Stella enjoyed spending time tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, camping, hosting gatherings and baking. She liked to chat with friends and family on the phone.

 

Stella was predeceased by her parents Alex and Nellie Korolischuk; brothers: Adam, Bill, Eddie, and John Korolischuk. Her husband Rudy Serfas, Her son Ron Serfas, Her daughter Marilyn Thompson, Her grandson-in-law Jerry Cooper and great granddaughter Elexis Alexander.

 

Stella will be lovingly remembered by her children, grand children, great grandchildren, and brother.

- (Children of late Ron Serfas) Theresa (Miguel) Munoz, Eric Alexander (Cecile Starblanket) Eric’s children (late Elexis) Eric Jr, Ethan and Elijah Alexander, Eric Jr’s son Mathew Alexander.

-Brenda (Norman) Unterberger their children Shawn (Krista) Serfas, their children Abigail, Isaiah, and Ayla Serfas, Tyler (Christine) Unterberger their children Madison and Mason Unterberger, Lindsay Unterberger.

-(Children of late Marilyn Thomspon) Troy (Carrie) Roach their son Joshua Roach, Clinton (Melissa) Roach their children Taylor and Kyle Roach, Camila, Liah, and Brady Rodriguez. Kari Helewka her children Brandon and Breanne Helewka. Aaron, Zachary, and Luke Thompson.

-Rob (Linda) Serfas their children Tammy (late Jerry) Cooper their children Brayden and Breanna Cooper, Bobby (Nor) Serfas their children Jacob, Josh, and Princess Serfas, Amy (Tony) Walsh their children Hanna and Owen Walsh.

-Wayne (Jeannette) Serfas their children Derek Serfas (Brandy Perry) their children Jade and Zoe Perry, Claire, Drake Serfas, Kerry (Sheldon) Coats their sons Keelan, Xander, Lachlan, and Talon, Robin (Jennifer) Boleski  their children Jordana and Jake Boleski, Cale (Pensri) Boleski, Dylan Boleski.

-Pat (Bob) Campbell their children Kali and Jenna Campbell, Kali’s daughters Lily and Sophia Campbell.

-Tracy Serfas (Philip Little) their children Darnell Young and Jessica Serfas-Little, brother Jerry (Judi) Korolischuk

Numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Public Visitation will be held between 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2022.  Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28 Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Dennis Serfas officiating.  Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Charity of Donor’s Choice.   Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
