Richard Hastings Reed

September 22, 1940 ~ May 17, 2022

 

REED, Richard "Dick", 81 years old, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 22, 1940, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Dick leaves to mourn his loving wife, Wendy; daughters, Kathy (Jim) Bruyere and Cheri-Lyn Reed; grandchildren: Tiffaney, Warren, Caitlin, Racquel and Kim; 10 great grandchildren; siblings: June (Dave) Gordichuk, Diane McCallum, Rhonda (Frank) Kurenda and Neil Reed; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dick was predeceased by his daughter, Debby Barrows; son in-law, Richard Barrows; granddaughter, Courtney Barrows; brother, Stephen Reed; brother in-law, Bruce McCallum; and parents, John and Violet Reed.

Dick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved the adventure of travel, particularly when he and Wendy were traveling in their RV spending many winters in Mexico escaping the cold Saskatchewan winters. As an entrepreneur, Dick and Wendy owned a hospitality business for over 25 years and one of his favorite pass times at work was chatting with his customers. Dick will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dick had requested no funeral and will be interred at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
