Ardell Henderson

September 28, 1943 – July 19, 2022

Del Henderson of Candle Lake, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 19, 2022, at the

Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, following a short but courageous fight with MDS.

Dad was born on September 28, 1943, to Fred and Francis Henderson in Prince Albert, SK.

He was the youngest of his four siblings.

Dad was a creative man who always had a project in the works. He was proud of the businesses that he started at the Lake, but his favourite project was “the Farm”. It was a special place to Dad and all his loved ones. He spent many hours there feeding the fish with his grandkids. He was fondly known as The Old Coot…Sonny…Tonny… Oopie… Del…Dad…

Fish Grandpa…Papa… and Grandpa. He loved his life at the Lake, loved to dream big dreams, loved to kid and laugh, and loved his family fiercely.

Dad is survived by his loving wife Gail; daughter Mandy (Jason); son Marcus (Lindsay); his girls: Nicole (Waldemar), Kim (Dean) and Shelby (Jon); grandchildren: Nate, Luke, Ethan, Cohen, Zachary, Jeffrey, Evan, William, Olivia, Jesse & Matthew; sister Alandra; sisters-in-law: Betty, Gale, and Mary; brothers-in-law Brian (Brooke) and Dale (Jeanne); as well as nieces, nephews, and his furry side kick Bandit.

Family that passed before Dad were his parents, Fred and Francis; brothers:  Fred, Marv and Pudge; our mom Wendy and his niece Laurie.

At Dad’s request, no formal funeral service will be held. A private family celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Our family would like to thank the kind and compassionate nurses, doctors, and staff at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert.

In lieu of other tributes, our family wishes that donations be made to the Rose Garden Hospice, 1403 Central Ave Ste 450, Prince Albert, SK S6V 7J4 or to a charity of your choice.

Dad, you will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
