She spent many years working and excelling in retail and enjoyed buying trips to Montreal to the fur shows.

In 1953, Diane married Robert (Bob) Markiewicz.  They raised two daughters, Deborah and Brenda, and Diane found her dressmaking skills very useful in having two little girls.

Diane loved gardening, cooking, homemaking, and flower gardens.  She took great pride in her home and yard excelling in all of these.

Although Bob and Diane loved to travel and made may trips throughout Canada and the U.S. with their motor home.  Their favorite place on the planet was Waskesiu Lake.  Upon retirement, Bob and Diane spent most of their time at their cabin at Waskesiu enjoying boating, fishing, waterskiing, blueberry picking and sharing these activities with their children and grandchildren.  They also loved nature walks in the park with their faithful pets, Zeeah and Zowee.

Many thanks to the kind and compassionate nurses and doctors of the Victoria Hospital for the care they provided to our mom.

Diane had faith in The Lord’s Prayer – “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.”

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and

there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying,
