Mildred Evelyn Howat (nee Soles) was born on July 25, 1930, in Kinistino, SK, and passed away peacefully at the Jubilee Lodge Nursing Home, on November 28, 2022, in Kinistino, SK, at the age of 92 years.

Mildred is survived by her loving family, her children, Norman Howat of Dugald, MB, Lyle (Cyndie) Howat of Saskatoon, SK, Evelyn (Brian) Zbesheski of Melfort, SK, Ward (Linda) Howat of Prince Albert, SK, Garth Howat of Saskatoon, SK, Greg (Terry) Howat of Prince Albert, SK, and Norma (Logan) Howat of Prince Albert, SK; She will also be lovingly remembered by her brother, Wayne (Linda) Soles of Prince Albert, SK, her sister-in-law, Phillis Soles of Briarlea, SK, and her brothers-in-law, Archie Tichkowski of Lloydminster, AB, and Bev (Cheryl) Howat of Shellbrook, SK. She will be dearly missed by her close extended family, Shelley (Brian) MacDonald of Buffalo Narrows, SK, and Brent (Bev) Fenner of Birch Hills, SK and her cherished 34 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Howat, her parents, Samuel and Mable Soles, her brothers, Sam, Floyd, Lawrence, and Fred Soles, and her sister, Shirley Tichkowski.

Mom was born in Briarlea, SK, July 25 1930. She met dad on November 17, 1954 and was married December 17, 1954. They had 7 kids together, and she worked at Mont St Joseph Home and took care of special needs people for over 40 years. She was a long-time member of TOPS. A testament to her caring and loving personality, she was the smiling face sitting at the table, in her spot, waiting to welcome her next visitor into her home. It didn’t matter where they were travelling, near or far, Grandma always had to stop at the café for a coffee and fries.

Thank you to the staff of Jubilee Lodge Home for looking after mom for the last 4 years, we all very much appreciate it.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28 Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Major Ed Dean officiating. Interment will be at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
